    This years Christmas message

I was just reading about a family who went through the most awful trauma. After being forced to travel by foot for several days, while the wife was heavily pregnant, they were unable to access accommodation and the woman was forced to give birth in very unsanitary conditions and in utter disgrace. One [...]

‘Tis the season to moan about the commercialisation of Christmas

Strangely, I’m so used to the Christmas has become too commercial meme that I can’t even get angry about it anymore. It’s like when the coalition invaded Iraq after I’d been out marching on the streets for months and it was like my spirit was so crushed that I no longer cared. Which [...]

    Paranoid Apocalypse

I was watching Australia’s Favorite Album the other night and Ok Computer did really well which prompted me to dig it out today and have a listen.

I was struck by how much the album resonates with the themes of advent which has a lot to do with the end of the world, oppression and a [...]

    No Church at Christmas II

    Anglican Communion News Service

Churches from around the Anglican Communion reported record attendance at their Christmas services. Carol Services and the traditional Midnight Mass found churches with standing room only, with some places having to turn people away for safety reasons. This was in contrast to news that some mega-churches denominations were closing on Christmas.

    Pretty amazing [...]

    No Church at Christmas

I heard from Don about Willow Creek’s (an american megachurch) decision to cancel church on sunday because it is a time for families. Google the news for it and you’ll come up with a number of opinions and it seems to have created some controversy.

I thought this guy was interesting and has some good [...]
