Not religion but love
There is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to other animals as well as humans, it is all a sham. – Anna Sewell, writer (1820 – 1878)

I’ve just read a biography of Eileen O’Connor and am about to start reading about Therese de Liseux, and these influential women kept emphasising love in their lives and their ministries. Eileen’s letters mentioned love over and over, and she kept reminding her Sisters that everything they did was useless unless it was done in love, and for love.
