Google and Open Source Software
I might start writing a bit more about open source. I have avoided it before because it’s pretty specialised and nerdy but perhaps it is becoming more well known. I have been an open source user (and sometimes contributor) for about five years and it’s an inspiring area because it’s an amazing collaboration across cultures. The socialogical implications are pretty amazing too.
For me there is a religious connection because it’s a form of giving of service to others. It is far reaching too – being used all over the world in education settings where microsoft is too expensive including africa and mexico.

I can’t help but be attracted to a company that affirmatively decides it doesn’t want to be evil, and believes that it isn’t necessary to be evil to be successful.
