Let us Sing
Today, if you hear his voice,
8do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,
as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
9when your fathers put me to the test
and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
Yesterday I was getting all sad about my ongoing career crisis. This psalm references back to that reading where the Israelites demonstrated a lack of faith even though they had seen Moses sticking it to the Pharoe with a bunch of miraculous plagues.
I’ll have to try to remember this psalm when and if my career stuff works out.
1Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Well I guess I could apply a little faith and allow a smile for the time being. The thing is while I usually like to ridicule Bible versus that are made into pop songs, I don’t mind the one that was made out of this psalm because pop music suits it perfectly. Happy, innocent, playful, dance-able and just a romping good time.
